It’s made of aluminum, has even and small screen bezels, and just makes a high-end impression. The Galaxy Tab S7 FE looks like a premium device and feels like it. There are almost no differences when it comes to the basic design and built quality. Sure, in direct comparison, the S7 is much snappier. Even the Samsung DeX desktop mode runs pretty well. The tablet can handle all common apps like Chrome, YouTube, Microsoft Office, and Samsung Notes very well and a good amount of multitasking is possible too. On a positive note, I never thought that it’s slow during my everyday use. In my Adobe Premiere Rush render test, the S7 FE needed 10 minutes longer to render the same 4K video. Instead of UltraHD graphics, you can play it just with HD settings. While you can play Fortnite with „epic“ settings on the S7 Plus, you can select medium graphics on the S7 FE only. My gaming tests confirm the bad benchmark results.

It’s also interesting to note that it’s a bit faster than the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro which is another large mid-range tablet. Not just a bit but much slower – that goes for the CPU and GPU performance in Geekbench 5 and 3D Mark.

You can get it with WiFi only and WiFi plus 5G.īenchmark tests show that it’s much slower than the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7 Plus due to the Snapdragon 750G chipset. Inside the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G octa-core processor with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and a 64GB or 128GB internal storage. That’s because of the display and has nothing to do with the pen. Since the S7 FE has a 60Hz screen, it looks like the S Pen does not react as instant as it does on a 120Hz screen. I noticed one other difference which is due to the screens.

With those, you can quickly start a new note, take a screenshot and annotate it, use a translation feature, and much more. The stylus is very precise and works great.

I still think that the Samsung Notes app is one of the best note-taking apps for Android and it’s fantastic for handwriting or drawing with the S Pen. You can attach the pen magnetically to the tablet just as with the S7 Plus, though.

But to use Bluetooth gestures, which the S7 series supports, you’ve got to charge them. You never have to charge an S Pen for handwriting and drawings. The pens for the S7 and S7 Plus have a built-in battery which is missing on the S7 FE stylus. There’s one difference on the inside, however. I love that this is possible with all Samsung S Pen devices. And, of course, since all S Pens are interchangeable, you can use the stylus for the S7 FE with the S7 Plus and the other way around. At first sight, it looks identical to the pens for the S7 and S7 Plus. Like with the others of this series, the S Pen is included, so you don’t have to buy it extra. Samsung S Pen: Without Bluetooth Gestures Since it has a Widevine level of L1, you can watch Netflix and other services with HD resolution. It has wide viewing angles, is very sharp, fully laminated, and bright enough to work outside in the shadows. Overall, I think the display is very good. It sounds like I’m complaining about the screen a lot – but that just happens when comparing a mid-range device to a top-of-the-line premium tablet. That means animations don’t look as smooth.

While the other tablets of the S7 series support 120Hz, the S7 FE has a standard 60Hz display. In a direct comparison with that one, whites look a bit yellowish. And it’s a bit darker than the Galaxy Tab S7 which has an LCD too. It’s an LCD and that means the contrast is not as high as on the S7 Plus. The resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels is the same, so texts look very sharp. However, unlike with the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus, the FE has a standard LCD instead of a Super AMOLED panel. Usually, tablets that are this big cost much more. At under 600 Dollars, we’re getting a 12.4-inch screen. Let’s start with the display because that’s the unique selling point of the Galaxy Tab S7 FE. The standard Tab S7 used to cost 650 Dollars but is sold for 530 Dollars now. Originally, the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus was released for 850 Dollars but you can get it for just over 700 Dollars already. The cheapest WiFi version of the Galaxy Tab S7 FE starts at 530 US Dollars.
